Free Crypto Rug Checker & Honeypot Detector

Scan any token contract for rug pull risks and honeypot traps. Free, instant, no sign-up required.

What We Check

Our scanner analyzes multiple on-chain risk factors to give you a comprehensive safety score.

Contract Security

Honeypot detection, source code verification, proxy contract detection, self-destruct capability, and hidden ownership checks.

Ownership & Minting

Ownership renouncement status, mint authority, freeze authority (Solana), balance modification capability, and ownership reclaim risk.

Liquidity & Holders

Liquidity lock status, top holder concentration, whale analysis, buy/sell tax rates, and DEX/CEX listing verification.

OpenLiquid's free Rug Checker scans tokens across 8 chains for honeypot detection, ownership risks, mint authority, and holder concentration. It uses GoPlus Security API for EVM chains and RugCheck API for Solana, providing an instant safety score from 0 to 100.

Honeypot Detection

A honeypot token is a scam contract designed to let you buy but prevent you from selling. The contract code contains hidden restrictions that block sell transactions, trap your funds permanently. Honeypot scams are one of the most common rug pull techniques on Ethereum, Solana, and BNB Chain.

OpenLiquid's rug checker simulates a sell transaction against the token contract before you invest. If the simulation fails or reveals abnormally high sell taxes (above 50%), the token is flagged as a honeypot. On EVM chains, honeypot detection uses GoPlus Security's simulation engine. On Solana, the scanner checks for freeze authority and transfer restrictions through the RugCheck API.

Signs of a honeypot: sell transactions always fail, buy tax is 0% but sell tax is 90%+, contract has an unverified source code with hidden modifiers, or the owner can toggle selling on and off. Always scan before buying any token you haven't verified.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the OpenLiquid Rug Checker analyze? +

It checks honeypot status, contract verification, ownership renunciation, mint authority, freeze authority (Solana), proxy contracts, hidden owners, tax rates, holder concentration, and liquidity locks across 8 chains.

Which blockchains are supported? +

Ethereum, Solana, BNB Chain, Arbitrum, Polygon, Optimism, Avalanche, and Base.

Is the Rug Checker free? +

Yes, completely free with no limits. It uses GoPlus Security API for EVM chains and RugCheck API for Solana.

How is the safety score calculated? +

For EVM chains, we start at 100 and deduct points for each risk flag: honeypot (-40), proxy contract (-15), hidden owner (-15), reclaimable ownership (-10), mintable (-8), owner can change balances (-10), and more. For Solana, we use RugCheck's native scoring system which is the gold standard for Solana token analysis.

Does a high score guarantee the token is safe? +

No. A high score means fewer on-chain risk signals were detected. It does not guarantee the project won't rug — always do your own research (DYOR).
